What are the career after Hotel Management?

Hospitality industry has wide opportunities for employment. The presence of 4&5 star hotels, Fine dining restaurants, Bars, Clubs, Resorts and Pubs in tier 1, 2 and 3 cities are creating multiple job opportunities. Moreover, there are more and more hotels and restaurants upcoming everyday in each and every part of the world which requires optimum number of employees for managing the organization. Apart from hotel industry Cruise liners and Airlines companies also provide multiple opportunities for hospitality aspirants to make their career. They really pay a handsome amount of in hand salary to fresher’s.

Students can join hotel industry after completing their Graduation in Hotel Management or Diploma. They can pursue these course after completing their +2. If any aspirant wishes to join this industry only after 10th, they can do so by pursuing 1-year Certificate course.

Selecting your line of work should only be decided after completing 6 months Industrial Training in any of the Chain Hotels or Resorts. Hotel Management has 4 core departments, they are-:

  1. Front Office
  2. Housekeeping Operations
  3. Food & Beverage Production
  4. Food & Beverage Service

Industrial Training gives a brief exposure to these 4 departments and their daily activities which may help an aspirant get to know his true potential and desire to work in any one of these departments.

After completing the course students have an option for appearing for the interview of Management Trainee. If they clear this set of interviews and get selected, then they have to go under a training program conducted by the hotel for a specific period of time which is generally for 18 – 24 months depending upon the Brand of hotels. After completing the management training program, the trainee is awarded with Assistant level of position in the respective department. Their salary is also set according to the norms of company and position.
